Gateway to Health Careers Project. (2014-current). The purpose of the project is to expand workforce availability for rural community healthcare employers of the Panhandle by increasing the number of area high school campuses offering health science programs.

Utilizing a virtual platform, emersive enviornments are created for students to interface and collaborate within. The use of head mounted displays, gaming headsets and haptic devices allow participants to work, interface and conduct themselves within the virtual world in order to accomplish or experience specific educational activities.

A 40 foot trailer and dually pick-up truck were transformed into a mobile simulation lab and clinic bay. This has enabled the opportunity for on-site training across 27 counties in the Texas Panhandle, as well as remote healthcare clinics to be taken to under-served areas in the Texas panhandle.
